IC Draws with Illinois Wesleyan

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – In one of the most evenly played matches of the season, the Illinois College men's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw with Illinois Wesleyan on Wednesday at Neis Field.

IC moved to 4-1-2 while Illinois Wesleyan is now 4-0-2.

The Titans opened the scoring in the match when they scored 17 minutes and 15 seconds into the contest. They would go on to hold that lead for the remainder of the half.

IC roared back in the early stages of the second period and capped the comeback when J'aiden Cranwell-Meneses tied the contest with his fourth goal of the season at the 59:53 mark off an assist from Carter Uhlman. That would close out the scoring for the night.

The team statistics were almost as even as the score. IWU posted 12 shots on the night while IC countered with 10. Cranwell-Meneses and Tyler Lunning each recorded a pair of shots to lead the Blueboy attack.

Daniel Happach went the distance in goal for IC, posting four saves on the evening.

IC returns home to England Stadium for a Saturday afternoon contest against Elmhurst. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
