JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Blueboys fell 4–0 in their Rocket League match against Cornell College to open MVEC play. Cornell took the first two games decisively (6–2, 7–2), but adjustments midway through the series tightened the games. After holding Cornell to just two goals in Game 3 (0–2) and barely dropping Game 4 (4–3), the Blueboys showed promising fight.
Cornell leaned heavily on standout player "ACU," and once Illinois College shifted focus to limiting his impact, the matches grew far more competitive. That defensive adjustment will be a key factor should the two teams meet again in the postseason.
