BELOIT, Wis. – The Blueboys dropped both games of Saturday's doubleheader against Beloit in their final regular season series, falling 8-1 in game one and 4-0 in game two.
With the losses, the Blueboys move to 22-17 overall and 10-10 in conference play, while Beloit improves to 25-13 (13-7).
Game 1: Beloit 8 IC 1
Illinois College got on the board first with a
Connor Hennemann RBI single in the top of the second inning. However, Beloit answered with two runs in the fourth and pulled away late.
Adam Passmore paced the offense with a pair of hits.
Charlie Lardi started on the mound, going five innings and striking out six while allowing four runs. The loss marked Lardi's first of the season, dropping his record to 7-1.
Game 2: Beloit 4 IC 0
A quiet start offensively for both teams turned in Beloit's favor in the fifth inning, when they broke the scoreless tie. The Buccaneers tacked on three more runs in the sixth and held IC to just four hits.
Louie Bartletti led the Blueboys with two hits, while
Ketch Mills and
Nolan Decker each added one.
Dawson Vernier pitched five innings in the start and took the loss, falling to 1-5 on the season.
