MONMOUTH, Ill. – The Blueboys dropped the final game of their conference series against Monmouth College, falling 6-3 at Glasgow Field on Wednesday afternoon.
With the loss, the Blueboys move to 21-13 overall and 9-6 in conference play, while the Fighting Scots improve to 14-17 and 9-6.

IC struck first with a solo home run off the bat of Louie Bartletti—his eighth of the season. Monmouth quickly responded in the bottom of the first, plating two runs to take the lead, which they would not relinquish.
The Fighting Scots added two more in the third to stretch their advantage, but the Blueboys fought back with a two-run fourth inning. Monmouth answered again with a pair of runs in the sixth, ultimately sealing the win.
Tyler Barker led the Blueboys offensively, going 3-for-3 with a walk, while Logan Schweigert chipped in with a pair of hits. Jack McGuire started on the mound and pitched three innings, taking the loss and falling to 3-3 on the season.
IC now sits in third place in the conference standings with two series remaining in the regular season.
