RIPON/APPLETON, Wis.  – The Illinois College men's tennis team swept a pair of Midwest Conference duals on Saturday, topping Ripon 6-1 and then beating Lawrence, 5-2.
IC has now won three straight matches.
IC 6 Ripon 1
The Blueboys opened the dual by winning two of the three doubles matches to jump out to a 1-0 lead. IC got doubles victories from
Glenn Conway and
Jeff Wernsing at No. 1 and
Grayson Dupree and
Titus Ashford at No. 3.
The singles competition was all IC as the Blueboys stormed to victory in all six matches. Â
Tajas Zalas,
Grayson Dupree, Wernsing, and Ashford all rolled to straight set wins while Conway and Andres Dupree won in three sets.
IC 5 Lawrence 2
As it did earlier in the day, IC won two of the three doubles matches to move out to a 1-0 lead. Zala and
Andrus Dupre at No. 2 and
Grayson Dupre and Ashford at No. 3 won to give the Blueboys the point.
In singles, IC got wins from Wernsing (No. 2), Conway (No. 3),
Grayson Dupre (No. 5), and Ashford (No. 6) to secure the victory.
