JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- Illinois College secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Cornell College, thanks to a dominant performance from Jake "jp8" Petrovich.
Lucas Schultz opened against Twoman's Sonic, taking just one stock before being 3-stocked. Julian Luaders followed, cleaning up Twoman's last two stocks but falling quickly to MC's Terry. Daniel Scott evened things out, finishing MC and taking three stocks before being eliminated by Arjay's Yoshi.
Theo Biela grabbed a stock from Arjay before being 2-stocked, putting Illinois College in a tough spot. But Jake Petrovich came in clutch, taking Arjay's final two stocks without losing any, then dominating Sharpie's Falco and Camden's Shulk—securing eight stocks while dropping only two.
Jake's standout performance carried Illinois College to victory, a crucial win that could secure the #4 seed heading into playoffs.
