JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College baseball team started the Midwest Conference portion of the season in strong fashion, sweeping Monmouth at Joe Brooks Field on Saturday.

The Blueboys took the opener 10-1 before posting a 10-0 seven-inning victory in game two.

IC is now 11-6 and 2-0 in conference play while the Fighting Scots dropped to 4-11 and 4-2.

Game 1: IC 10 MC 1
With the score tied at 1, IC broke the game open in the fourth with a pair of runs and never trailed again. The Blueboys added four runs in the sixth and three more in the eighth.

Nolan Decker led the IC attack, going 3-for-4 with a double and four RBI. Adam Passmore added three hits and scored three times while Sean Raffa also chipped in with three hits.
