LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Lake Forest scored on a short jumper with three seconds to play and beat the Illinois College men's basketball team, 78-76, in a Midwest Conference game on Saturday at the Sports & Recreation Center.
IC is now 16-8 overall and 9-6 in the Midwest Conference. Lake Forest moved to 11-12 and 8-6.Â

The first half was fast-paced as IC jumped out to a quick six-point lead. Lake Forest answered and led by as much as eight before the Blueboys rallied back and a 3pt. field goal by
Ty Lenhardt gave IC a 40-38 lead going into intermission.
The Foresters came out of the gate strong in the second half and led by as much as five points on two occasions. IC then clawed back to take a three-point lead, but Lake Forest answered right back and led by five with 5:26 to go. The Blueboys then uncorked a 10-0 run to take a 72-67 lead late in the contest. IC held a 76-72 advantage with 45 seconds to play but the Foresters scored the game's final five points to earn the victory. The game-winning basket came on a short jumper by Alex Knight with three seconds to play.
Buzz Ritzel of IC had a look at a three-point attempt at the buzzer but it was just wide. Â
Josh Harris led IC with a game-high 26 points and 11 rebounds. Lenhardt added 16 points and Ritzel 14.
Seth Doss chipped in with his own double-double, scoring 10 points and grabbing eight rebounds.

IC has won nine of its last 13 outings… the Blueboys have won 48 of their last 61 (48-13) games and 65 of the past 77 (65-13)… IC has also won 37 of its previous 47 Midwest Conference contests.Â
