JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Overwatch 2 team dominated in their MEC match Thursday night, sweeping Bridgewater College with a 3-0 victory.
This was their first MEC OW2 match of the new season coming off a 5-6 fall season.
IC kicked off the series with a 2-1 win on the Control map Nepal. Despite a closer-than-expected match, in which they gave up a point, Illinois College held their ground and clinched the win.
In Game 2, on the Hybrid map Numbani, IC showcased a dominant defense, achieving a full hold and finishing with a 1-0 victory. The team's performance on defense was a highlight of the match, solidifying their strong teamwork.
The final game, on the Push map Colosseo, ended in a 3-1 win for Illinois College. While the match was initially competitive, a series of key team fights went in IC's favor, allowing them to push all the way to Bridgewater's spawn and seal the win.
