JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College SSBU team faced a dual MEC showdown on Wednesday night, competing against Cornell College and Campbellsville College. They split the matches, falling to Cornell 1-0 but securing a dominant 7-0 victory over Campbellsville.
Game 1: Cornell 1 IC 0
The first match of the night came all the way down to the finish with
Jake Petrovich as he took on Camden but came up short in the end.
Noah Horsman started strong by taking two stocks from Sharpie's Falco, followed by
Daniel Scott, who claimed one more from Sharpie before taking two from Arjay's Yoshi.
Devin Ussery then stepped in to secure another stock from Arjay.
Julian Luaders made a big impact, sweeping three stocks from TwoMan's Sonic and adding two more from MC's Terry. Finally,
Jake Petrovich closed things out by taking one stock from MC's Terry and two from Camden's Shulk.

Game 2: IC 7 Campbellsville 0
Julian Luaders had one of the most dominant performances in IC Esports history in their comeback win. Luaders entered the match as IC was down 13-9, and Luaders took 13 stocks all by himself to proper IC to the win.
Julian took 1 stock from Sgt. Cheesy (Diddy Kong), 3 stocks from Pankakephlip (Roy), 3 stocks from Bumpadump (King K. Rool), 3 stocks from Barcode (Aegis), and 3 stocks from MudkipWithBowtie (Incineroar).
Theo Biela and
Daniel Scott each took one stock from Sgt. Cheesy (Diddy Kong) as well in the match.
