Balanced Effort Helps Blueboys Move to 9-0

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College men's swimming and diving team used a balanced effort to post a 151-71 over North Central in a dual meet on Saturday at the Central High School Pool.

The victory moved the Blueboys to 9-0 in the dual season.

IC had six different individuals post victories on the day including a pair of double individual winners. Cooper Meyer won both the 1-meter (201.80) and 3-meter (183.90) diving events. Meyer's 3-meter total was a school record.

Eli Eberle was the other double individual winner for the Blueboys, taking both the 100-yard freestyle (52.55 seconds) and the 200-yard IM (2:08.65).

IC's other individual victories came from Scottie Nicotra in the 100-yard backstroke (58.27), Scott Sosnowski in the 50-yard freestyle (24.04), John Masiliunas in the 200-yard backstroke (2:08.60), and Nathen Trachta in the 100-yard butterfly (57.54 seconds).

The Blueboys also won both relay events. Trachta, Meyer, Eberle, and Nicotra took the 400-yard medley relay in 3:42.95. Nicotra, Sosnowski, Masiliunas, and Trachta then finished the day by winning the 800-yard freestyle in 7:48.59.

IC will close out the Coultas Natatorium portion of the season on Saturday when it faces Millikin. The dual meet is scheduled to start at Noon.
