Ty Lenhardt Named MWC Performer of the Week

GRINNELL, Iowa – Illinois College's Ty Lenhardt has been named the Midwest Conference Men's Basketball Performer of the Week, the league announced today.

A junior guard from Waterloo, Ill., Lenhardt poured in a game-high 28 points to help IC post an 86-71 win over Knox in the conference opener Tuesday in the Blueboys' only game of the week. Lenhardt was 9-for-12 from the field, including a 6-for-8 performance from three-point range. He also drained all four of his free throws while dishing out a game-high five assists. 

Lenhardt's six three-point field goal performance is tied for the eighth-best single-game total in school history. 

The contest capped off a three-game stretch that has seen Lenhardt score 26 or more points in each outing. He is averaging 27.3 points in his last three games and has made 14 straight free throws in that span.

The Blueboys return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Monmouth for a Midwest Conference contest at 5:30 p.m.
