ELSAH, Ill. — The Illinois College women's basketball team closed out the Principia Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday with a tough 88–55 loss to UW–Stevens Point.
The Lady Blues fall to 0-2 on the season and Stevens Point gets their first win of the season and are 1-0.
The Lady Blues traded baskets with the Pointers through the first quarter, trailing just 18–15 after ten minutes, before Stevens Point used a strong second-half surge to pull away. Illinois College continued to compete throughout against a strong WIAC opponent.
Jayln Patterson once again led IC in scoring with 14 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two blocks. Aubrey Kietzman provided a spark off the bench with seven points on perfect shooting, while Cora DeSutter and Danielle Beach each added six points. The Lady Blues shot 31.9 percent from the field and converted 22 free throws in the contest.
