JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College Rocket League team battled back to defeat St. Ambrose JV, 4–2, in their final NECC regular season match on Tuesday night.
After splitting the first two games and narrowly falling in Game 3, the Blueboys found their rhythm and closed out the series with three straight wins, taking Games 4–6 by scores of 4–1, 2–1, and 3–2.
Glenn Conway led the offensive charge with seven goals and four assists, while Dwight Duijneveld contributed four goals, five assists, and a team-high eight saves. Lucas Barry added five goals and seven saves, rounding out a balanced team effort that secured the comeback victory.
The win improves Illinois College to 5–2 in NECC play, locking in the #3 seed for the upcoming playoffs. With the result, IC officially places three teams in NECC postseason competition; a milestone finish to the regular season.
