JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College esports team punched its ticket to the NECC Rocket League Grand Finals on Wednesday night, earning a 4–2 semifinal victory over Waldorf University behind one of its most complete performances of the season.
After dropping a tight 3–4 opener, IC answered immediately and controlled the pace for much of the match. The Blueboys secured wins in Games 2–4 by scores of 2–1, 4–1, and 3–2, applying constant offensive pressure that kept Waldorf on its heels. Waldorf forced a Game 6 with a 3–0 win in Game 5, but Illinois College closed the door with a dominant 3–0 clincher to finish the series.
The trio of Glenn Conway, Dwight Duijneveld, and Lucas Barry combined for a strong statistical night, leading in every major category while maintaining extended possession throughout the series.
