GRINNELL, Iowa – Illinois College punt and kick returner
Timo Kato has been named the Midwest Conference Special Teams Performer of the Week, the league announced today.
Kato, a sophomore from Niles, Ill., had four total returns for 106 yards and a touchdown in IC's 59-0 homecoming win over Lawrence on Saturday. He returned three punts for 89 yards, including a 66-yard return for a touchdown in the first quarter. Kato also added one kickoff return for 17 yards.
This is the second time in his career that Kato has earned the honor from the conference, as he won the same award for his performance in week three of his freshman season.
