Cornell Overpowers IC in 0-2 Valorant Loss

JACKSONVILLE, IL - The Illinois College Esports team fell to Cornell College in a 0-2 series loss, struggling to find our footing after a strong start on the first map.

Map 1: Abyss (6-13)
IC came into Abyss well-prepared, and it showed early as they jumped out to a 4-1 lead, forcing Cornell to burn a timeout. Unfortunately, after their adjustment, they took full control, going on a dominant 12-2 run to close out the map. They were unable to regain momentum once they found their rhythm.

Map 2: Split (3-13)
Split was a tough challenge for IC, as it's a map they haven't had much time to prepare on. Cornell played aggressively, and IC couldn't match their pace, leading to a lopsided loss.

Individual Stats:

• Noah Horsman led the team with 33 kills, 12 assists, and a 1.73 KDA.
• Dwight Duijneveld followed with 27 kills, 8 assists, and a 1.09 KDA.
• Kieran Powers contributed 15 kills and 4 assists.
• JC Izaguirre-Gomez secured 9 defuses, the highest on the team.
• Ekko Nguyen struggled against Cornell's aggression but provided key assists.
