JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College men's basketball team held Beloit to 16 second-half points and posted a 61-50 Midwest Conference triumph on Saturday at Sherman Gymnasium.
The win moved IC to 13-5 overall and 6-3 in conference play. Beloit is now 6-12 and 2-8.

The Buccaneers controlled the game for the first half, leading for 17 minutes. Beloit enjoyed its biggest advantage of the game, holding a 12-point cushion on two occasions, the last coming at 24-12 with 8:35 to play. Beloit took a 34-27 lead into halftime.
The second-half story was the IC defense, as the Blueboys limited the Buccaneers to just 16 points. IC trailed 43-42 with 10:53 remaining before a three-point play featuring a thunderous dunk by
Buzz Ritzel vaulted the Blueboys into control of the contest. IC would outscore Beloit, 16-7, the rest of the way to earn the victory.
Seth Doss led the IC effort with a game-high 17 points. Ritzel added 10 points for a balanced attack that saw nine Blueboys score on the day.
Jaylen Swinney grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds for the victors.

The Blueboys have won 45 of their last 55 games and 62 of the past 72… IC has also won 34 of its previous 41 Midwest Conference contests.
