Brunstein, Chance Earn All-American Honors

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College duo of Collin Brunstein and Destin Chance continues to reel in the postseason honors. 

Brunstein was named a first-team All-American by The College Football Network while Chance was honored on the organization's second team, it was announced over the weekend.

Along with this latest honor, Brunstein, a wide receiver from Jacksonville, Ill., was also a first-team All-American by the Associated Press, a second-team selection by the American Football Coaches Association, and a fourth-team pick by d3football.com. 

Brunstein caught 73 passes for 1,540 yards and 27 touchdowns during the 2024 campaign. His yardage and touchdown totals led the nation as did his 168 points scored. The senior concluded his stellar career with 77 touchdown receptions which is the NCAA career record for all levels. He also leaves his mark in the IC record book, graduating as the school's all-time leader in receiving yards (5,047) and touchdown receptions (77) while finishing second in receptions (220). He is the only player in Blueboy history to catch over 75 touchdown passes and record over 5,000 receiving yards.

Chance, a quarterback from Auburn, Ill., finished the 2024 campaign going 234-of-381 (614 %) for 3,593 yards and 50 touchdowns. He also rushed for 586 yards on 89 carries (6.6 yards per attempt) with eight scores. He was a semifinalist last season as well. The 58 touchdowns he accounted for was a single-season NCAA Division III record. Chance was a finalist for the 2024 Gagliardi Trophy, presented by Stearns Bank which goes to the NCAA Division III Player of the Year.
