RIPON, Wis. – Ripon handed the Illinois College men's basketball team a 74-62 defeat in a Midwest Conference contest on Saturday afternoon at Weiske Memorial Gymnasium.
With the loss, IC fell to 10-5 overall and 3-3 in Midwest Conference play while Ripon moved to 5-9 and 2-3.

Buzz Ritzel opened the game with a dunk and Ripon's Luke Meinholz followed with a 3pt. field goal to give the Red Hawks a 3-2 lead, a lead they never relinquished. Ripon grew its advantage to as much as 17 (34-17) with 6:21 to play and took a 39-26 advantage into halftime.
IC made a comeback in the second period, getting within seven points on three occasions, the last coming at 64-57 with 3:01 to go but the Blueboys could get no closer.
Ritzel led IC with 15 points.
Seth Doss added 14 points and seven rebounds while
Ty Lenhardt contributed 13 points and a team-high eight rebounds.
Jaylen Swinney was the fourth IC player in double figures with 11 points.

The Blueboys have won 42 of their last 52 games (42-10) and 59 of the past 69 (59-10). IC has also won 31 of its previous 38 Midwest Conference contests… IC is in a stretch of playing seven of eight games on the road… IC and Ripon split the season series with each team winning at home.
