ROCK ISLAND, Ill – The Blueboys opened their fall season at the Highland Championship at Highland Springs Municipal in Rock Island, Illinois. The tournament was hosted by Augustana College and had 21 teams competing in the field.
Illinois College finished 6
th overall after posting rounds of 300 and 298. A very strong field in the season opener saw two teams finish at under par for the two-day tournament with North Central and Augustana College.
The Blueboys were led by
Jarrett James who finished 8
th overall. James shot a tournament opening round of 70 (-2) to get the season started and came back in round two with a 73 (+1) to finish the tournament at one-under par. James adds his name to the Illinois College record book with his round of 70 putting his name once again on the board with the 4
th lowest score in the record book, which he had already been on four different times each with rounds of 70.
Other strong performances for the Blueboys included
Tobin Nell who finished in the top 20 with rounds of 73 and 75.
Emmitt Brokaw added a 79 and 74 for IC to take 6
th place by one stroke.
