JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College women's soccer team tied the best start in school history by blasting Buena Vista, 7-0, in a non-conference match on Saturday at England Stadium.
IC is now off to a 5-0-1 start. The Beavers suffered their first setback of the year and are now 4-1-1.

The Lady Blues had five different players score goals in the victory and it started early when
Haley Sommer scored on a penalty kick just 44 seconds into the match.Â
IC tacked on its second goal at the 26:18 mark when
Olivia Hulsey scored on a feed from
Abby Keeton. The first half scoring was closed out at the 33:53 mark when
Aliza Rodriguez found the net off an
Erin O'Connell pass.
The second half was much of the same. IC jumped back on the scoring bandwagon when Sommer scored unassisted for the second time on the day at 57:48.
The Lady Blues'
Holly Morehart scored unassisted at 62:13 before O'Connell tallied nearly four minutes later (66:01). Rodriguez closed out the scoring with her second of the day off a feed from
Olivia Hulsey.
IC outshot the Beavers 19-1.
Stella Gonzalez opened the match in net and recorded a save.
Sophia Kriegesmann handled the duties for the second half and didn't face a shot.
Blue Notes
IC scored 20 goals in its three matches this week… the Lady Blues defense has allowed just one goal in its first six matches… Sommer scored four goals in three matches on the week.
