JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The Illinois College men's tennis continued its six-game homestand by hosting Lewis & Clark Community College Wednesday at Bellatti Tennis Complex. The Blueboys faced tough competition and dropped this match by the final score of 1-8. The lone victory for IC came from
Andrus Dupre in his singles match as he defeated his opponent in the tiebreaker set 10-6.
The Blueboys got off to a slow start in doubles matches and dropped all three double matches. The No. 2 doubles match that included the pairing of first-year twins in A. Dupre and
Grayson Dupre as they battled their opponents closely and took five sets but fell short by the score of 5-8.
In the No. 4 singles match, A. Dupre opened the match by taking the opening set by the score of 7-6. However, LC's Joe Brangenberg forced a tiebreaker set by winning the set 2-6. In the back-and-forth tiebreaker set, Dupre battled Brangenberg fiercely and came out on top by the score of 10-6.
In the No. 6 singles match,
Momir Vickovic captured five sets from his opponent in the opening set but dropped the match in straight sets.
The Blueboys will play its fourth straight home match on Friday, March 22 facing off against the Owls of Mississippi University for Women at 2:00PM in Jacksonville, Illinois.
