JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College men's swimming team honored its seniors and then swam past Beloit in convincing fashion, 159-48, on Saturday at the Coultas Natatorium.
Prior to the meet, IC honored the 2024 senior class of
Matthew Billenstein and
Cooper Meyer and then proceeded to win 10 events en route to the victory.
The foursome of
John Masiliunas,
Scottie Nicotra,
Eli Eberle, and
Nathen Trachta got things started for the Blueboys, winning the 200-yard medley relay in 1:44.26 while Eberle,
Scott Sosnowski, Trachta, and Nicotra closed things out in style, winning the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:35.68.
In between the relay victories, Nicotra won the 100-yard freestyle (50.99) and 200-yard freestyle (1:54.73). Eberle was also a double-winner, touching the wall first in the 100-yard IM (54.88) and the 100-yard backstroke (59.60). Sosnowski won the 50-yard breaststroke in 32.06.
Blaine Gretencord won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:13.45 while
Cade Emerick was first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:28.16. Gavin Rasmussen rounded out the Blueboy victors, touching the wall first in the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.12).
