LISLE, Ill. – The Illinois College men's basketball team scored the game's first 11 points and posted its second consecutive win, 86-82, over Benedictine on Monday afternoon at the Dan and Ada Rice Center.
The victory moved IC to 8-4 overall while Benedictine dropped to 3-8.

The Blueboys scored the first 11 points of the game and never trailed in the contest. IC grew the lead to as much as 12 at 33-21 with 3:38 to go and took a 38-28 lead into halftime.
The Eagles were able to chip away at the IC lead in the second period, getting within two at 53-51 with 11:28 remaining but the Blueboys answered back and grew the advantage to 10 at 81-71 with 2:13 to go before cruising home with the victory in the final non-conference game of the 2024-25 season.
Buzz Ritzel and
Javonte McKenzie each scored 22 points to lead the Blueboys.
Ty Lenhardt chipped in with 19 points while
Seth Doss posted 12 points and a game-high eight rebounds.

The 86 points were a season-high, eclipsing the previous high of 81 against Concordia of Wisconsin on November 15th…
Josh Harris now sits at 975 career points in his quest to join the 1,000-point club… the Blueboys have won 40 of their last 49 games (40-9) and 57 of the past 66 (57-9). IC is also 23-3 in its last 26 non-conference games.
