LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Lake Forest made its two second-half goals stand up and stopped the Illinois College men's soccer team, 2-1, in the championship match of the Midwest Conference Tournament on Saturday at Mohr Field.
The loss ends IC's season with a 13-5-3 record. The Blueboys were the second seed in the tournament. Lake Forest, which was the top seed, advanced to the NCAA Tournament with a 10-7-3 record.

After a scoreless first half, the Foresters jumped ahead quickly after the break when Nathan Kostovesky tallied off an assist from Peter Cirob at the 48:44 mark. Lake Forest's Gustavo Machado then scored what would prove to be the game-winner at 50:35.
The Blueboys made a late charge when
Oscar Liogon Arenas found the back of the net at the 78:08 mark but that would be as close as IC would get.
Lake Forest out-shot IC, 14-10. The Blueboys had a balanced attack as
Jacob Pelletier led the squad with two.
TJ Esseily went the first 36:55 in net and was relieved by
Daniel Happach wo had a pair of saves.
