JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – Beloit scored a late goal and made it stand up to stop the Illinois College women's soccer squad, 1-0, in a Midwest Conference match on Saturday at England Stadium.
IC concluded its season 10-6-3 overall and 2-4-2 in conference play while Beloit is 5-10-3 and 4-3-1.

The contest was a defensive struggle throughout as both teams showed stingy back lines to keep the match scoreless through the first half.
The second period was much of the same until the Buccaneers broke through with a goal at the 85:50 mark, a lead they would hold through the end of the match.
With the win, Beloit secured the fourth and final spot in the conference tournament next weekend. IC finished fifth in the standings.
The Lady Blues outshot Beloit, 15-4, on the day.
Haley Sommer and
Olivia Ralston each had three to pace the IC offense.
Sophia Kriegesmann recorded a pair of saves in goal for the Lady Blues.

IC concluded the season with 10 wins, the second-best total in program history and one short of the school record… Sommer finished her outstanding career by leaving her name throughout the IC record book, finishing as the school's all-time leader in shots and second in goals and points and tied for fourth in assists.
