JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College men's soccer team made the regular season finale a memorable one, beating Beloit, 4-1, on Saturday at England Stadium.
The victory moved IC to 13-4-1 overall and 7-1-0 in Midwest Conference play. Beloit concluded its season at 2-16 and 1-7. The victory, combined with Lake Forest's win over Cornell on Saturday, means the Blueboys will travel to Lake Forest next weekend for the annual Midwest Conference Tournament as the 2-seed.

The Blueboys jumped ahead early as
Tyler Schiltz made his final regular season home appearance a memorable one, scoring a pair of goals in the first 19:14 of the match. The first coming at the 6:07 mark off an assist from classmate
Thomas Menke. The second came at 19:14 on a feed from fellow senior
Paul Adams.
Beloit got back into the match with a goal at 35:58 but IC's
Aidan Gowin pushed the advantage back to two when he scored unassisted at the 42:45 mark.
The second half was quiet until
Jason Hernandez scored from
Jives Efemini at the 85:10 mark to close out the scoring.
IC outshot the Buccaneers 32-6 on the day. Senior
Sam Blair led the Blueboy onslaught with five shots. Schiltz, Gowin,
Oscar Liogon Arenas, and
Tyler Lunning all had four.

Owen Macias had two saves in goal for the IC.

IC finished the regular season with 13 victories, the most in school history… with at least one match to play, Schiltz is now the school's all-time leader in goals, assists, points, and shots… after today, Macias currently stands third all-time in goals against average, seventh in shutouts, and ninth in save percentage all-time at IC.

The Blueboys will travel to Lake Forest for the Midwest Conference Tournament. The opening round will be Friday. The opponent and starting time will be announced later this weekend.
