MONMOUTH, Ill- The Illinois College women's basketball team closed out the Monmouth Invitational against Westminster College, dropping the contest 71-65. The loss drops Illinois College to 1-3, while Westminster earned their first victory of the season, improving to 1-3.

The game featured six lead changes, with the Lady Blues holding the advantage with three minutes remaining. However, Westminster closed strong with a 12-5 run to secure the win.Â
Jayln Patterson delivered a double-double for the Lady Blues with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Ashlyn Wightman added 14 rebounds and four blocks. Aubrey Kietzman led Illinois College with 15 points, shooting 3-for-8 from three-point range, while Anna McKee contributed 12 points to the effort. Although Illinois College led in field goal percentage, Westminster's 84.6% free-throw shooting made the difference in their close win.
