Box Score ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Illinois College women's soccer team traveled to UHSP Thursday night. The Lady Blues defeated the Eutectics by the score of 4-3 on a late penalty shot goal from
Haley Sommer in the 84th minute to move to 2-2 overall this season.
In the opening minutes, the Eutectics got off to an early 1-0 lead. In the 22nd minute,
Kayla Piper tied the game at 1-1 which was her second goal of the season.
In the 39th minute, Sommer gave the Lady Blues the 2-1 advantage after netting a shot that was assisted by
Erin O'Connell.
The Eutectics tied the game at 2-2 in middle of the second half. Shortly later,
Olivia Ralston put the IC back on top with a goal in the 70th minute.
In the 84th minute, Sommer got fouled in the box and found the back of the net for her second goal of the night. Sommer leads the team with four goals scored on the season.
The Lady Blues will travel Millikin University on Wednesday, September 13th to face the Big Blue at 7:00PM in Decatur, Ill.
