JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys started off the 2023 season hosting Millikin University on Saturday night. The team picked up a shutout win defeating the Big Blue with a final score of 31-0.
Destin Chance was the standout offensively with 256 yards passing and three touchdowns.
Thomas Little had an outstanding day in the backfield totaling 179 yards rushing and one touchdown.
Collin Brunstein was another explosive standout for the Blueboys in the big win leading the team with 106 receiving yards and two touchdown receptions.
The Blueboys got off to a hot start with Chance connecting with Brunstein on a 37-yard touchdown on their opening drive to give IC the early lead 7-0. After a safety and a field goal from
Toby McTamney, IC held a 12-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
The duo of Chance and Brunstein would connect again on a long touchdown reception in the second quarter. This one went for 53 yards and gave the Blueboys a comfortable 19-0 lead.
The defense for IC was able to keep the Big Blue from scoring with
Cory Walbert recording two interceptions in the third quarter.
Derrick Jones led the team in the game with six tackles and two sacks.
