JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College men's basketball team hosted Lawrence University for Senior Day on Saturday. The Blueboys defeated the Vikings with a final score of 86-67. The team continues its historic season with an overall record of 23-2 and a MWC record of 15-1.
The team took the time before the game to honor their seniors
Henry Hayer,
Jaxson Dian,
Jake Mazrimas,
Benton Singleton, and
Tyler Jowett for their accomplishments and dedication to the Blueboys basketball program.
Mazrimas led the team in scoring with 23 points shooting 5-9 from beyond the arc. Other double-figure scorers included
Buzz Ritzel (16), Hayer (11), and
Tre Rogers (10). Ritzel led the team with nine rebounds and seven assists.
The Blueboys will host the 2023 MWC Championship Tournament on Friday, 2/24, and Saturday, 2/25. IC will face Ripon College on Friday in the first semifinal game at 5:00 PM.
