JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College women's swimming team had a pair of double winners and used those performances to post a 100-92 victory over Monmouth on Saturday at the Coultas Natatorium.
The Lady Blues, who improved to 2-1 on the young season, had two individual victories from
Abigail Glaser and
Julia Edwards and a solo win by
Jena Sellers to help seal the victory.
Glaser took first in the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 20:45.21 and followed that by touching the wall first in the 500 freestyle in 6:04.94. Edwards posted her victories in the 400 IM (5:26.03) and the 200 breaststroke (2:45.03). Sellars took the individual title in the 100 freestyle by clocking a 1:01.78.
IC will swim against the Fighting Scots again next Saturday when it travels to Monmouth for a 1:00 p.m. meet.
