GREENVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College women's basketball team jumped out to a seven-point lead after the opening quarter and used that advantage down the stretch to post a 77-73 win over Westminster College in the opening game of the Greenville Tournament on Friday.
The win evened the Lady Blues record at 2-2 while Westminster dropped to 0-3.
IC got a double-double from
Jayln Patterson who scored 12 points and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.
Kendra Bass lead the Lady Blues on offense with a team-high 20 points while
Ashlyn Wightman added 17 and
Maya Smith 16.
With the victory, IC advances to the tournament's championship game against the host Greenville tomorrow at 6 p.m.
