LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Illinois College and Lake Forest battled to a 1-1 draw Saturday in a Midwest Conference match at Mohr Field.
The draw moved the Blueboys to 8-4-3 overall and 3-1-2 in conference action while the Foresters are now 5-8-3 and 3-1-3.
IC got on the scoreboard first when
Jives Efemini found the net on an unassisted goal at the 27:53 mark of the opening half. The Blueboy lead held up until late in the contest when Lake Forest's Gustavo Machado evened things up at the 83:08 mark to close out the scoring for the day.
The team statistics for the match were even, Lake Forest had 15 shots on the day while the Blueboys recorded nine.
Thomas Menke (two shots on goal) and
Tyler Lunning each had a pair of shots to lead the IC attack while
Owen Macias recorded eight saves in goal.
The Blueboys return to action Wednesday when Cornell College comes to England Field for a 7 p.m. Midwest Conference match.
