JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Lady Blues hosted Grinnell College in their first MWC match of the season. The Lady Blues fell short against the Pioneers with a final of 2-4.
The Lady Blues tied the match at 1-1 after a goal by
Haley Sommer in the 36th minute. Grinnell was able to take the lead with two goals to stand ahead of IC 1-3 at the half.
Sommer was able to connect with the net for the second time on the day in the 71st minute to decrease the deficit to 3-2. Grinnell was able to increase their lead with another goal in the 81st minute to seal the win over IC.
Cassidy Tacker represented the team in goal recording five saves on the day.
IC will host Augustana College on Tuesday, 9/27 at 4:30 PM.
