JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys earned a hard fought win over Knox College on Tuesday night with a final score of 72-68. This advances the team to 12-9 overall and 8-5 in the MWC.
The Blueboys were led by
Hunter Ottensmeier recording a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Other double figure scorers included
Tre Rogers (12),
Justin Kellogg (11),
Jake Mazrimas (10), and
Henry Hayer (10).
The game proved to be highly competitive as both teams remained close challenging each other for the lead. The Blueboys opened up the second half with back to back buckets by Kellogg and Hayer for the team's largest lead of the game with the score at 28-38. Although the score remained close, IC never gave up the lead for the rest of the contest to come away with the victory.
IC will travel to face Knox College on Thursday, 2/17 at 7:00 PM.
