JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Lady Blues hosted Monmouth College on Wednesday night. The Lady Blues dominated on both sides of the court earning their first Midwest Conference win of the season with a final of 61-49. This improves Illinois College to 2-5 overall and 1-2 in the MWC.
The Lady Blues were led by
Lilly Pepper posting a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Maya Smith added 11 points and eight rebounds.
Ashlyn Wightman made an impact on the defensive end with four blocks in the contest.
The Lady Blues were relentless on defense in the first half holding the Scots to just 15 points. IC led the Fighting Scots 41-15 at the end of the first half. Monmouth chipped away in the second half, but the Lady Blues were able to hold on to claim the dominant win.
Illinois College will return to action as they travel to Lawrence University on Saturday, 12/10 at 1:00 PM.
