EUREKA, Ill.- The Illinois College Lady Blues traveled to face Eureka College on Saturday. IC earned the victory in a competitive contest over the Red Devils with a final score of 77-74. This improves IC to 4-8 overall.
Jayln Patterson led the team recording a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Other double-figure scorers included
Ashlyn Wightman with 16 points,
Maya Smith with 14 points, and
Maya Williams with 11 points.
Eureka was able to take a one-point lead on a made free throw with 36 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. Wightman was able to connect on a jump shot to give IC the lead down the stretch. The Lady Blues forced a turnover to get the ball back, and sealed the win with a couple of made free throws by
Anna McKee.
The team will return to conference play traveling to face Beloit College on Tuesday, 1/3 at 5:30 PM.
