JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College men's basketball team hosted Augustana College on Friday. The team was able to earn their 11th consecutive victory defeating the Vikings with a final score of 74-69. This improves the Blueboys to 12-1 overall this season.
Tre Rogers was phenomenal leading the way for IC with 23 points in the contest. Other double-figure scorers included
Buzz Ritzel with 17 points and
Henry Hayer with 13 points.
Nestor Daboin led the team on the glass with eight rebounds.
The game remained close the entire contest. A three-pointer by Ritzel brought IC within one point with the score 68-69 with 1:43 left in the game. Rogers would get to the rim making an acrobatic layup to put the Blueboys ahead 70-69. The team was able to seal the win with clutch free throws down the stretch.
The Blueboys will return to conference play traveling to face Beloit College on Tuesday, 1/3 at 7:30 PM.
