ST. LOUIS, Mo.- The Illinois College Lady Blues traveled to face Webster University in their season opener. IC fell short in a close contest against the Gorloks with a final score of 58-68.
IC was led by
Lilly Pepper recording a double-double with 20 points and 17 rebounds.
Maya Smith was able to reach double figures in scoring as well with 10 points.
Webster got off to a hot start outscoring the Lady Blues 23-35 at the end of the first half. IC battled back to decrease the deficit in the third quarter outscoring the Gorloks 21-15 to make the score 44-50.
Webster was able to finish strong to hold off the Lady Blues comeback and hand them their first loss of the season.
IC will travel to face Millikin University on Monday, 11/14 at 7:00 PM.
