Blueboys Football Earns Win Over Beloit On Senior Day

JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys picked up a big win over Beloit College in their final game of the 2022 season with a final score of 65-13. The team ends the year with an overall record of 5-4 and a MWC record of 4-4. 

The Blueboys took the time at the beginning of the game to honor their 20 senior student-athletes. Trent Durell, Trevor Smalls, Ryan Kattenbraker, Eugene Williba, KJ Corley, Jack Hanauer, Darrius Cooley, A'ron Washington, Ian Gerfen, Matthew Guffey, Kyle McCalla, Brayton Moss, Florian Seferi, Dylan Hyde, Willie Terry, Stuart Wolf, Maxx Boone, Elijah Moscinski, Grant Heier, and Drew Gognat were joined by their families as they were recognized for their dedication to the Blueboys football program. 

Elijah Pollice led the team at quarterback with 266 yards passing and three touchdowns through the air. Pollice was also involved in the run game totaling 28 yards with one rushing touchdown. Bobby Nelson was the team's leading rusher with 74 yards and one touchdown, and senior Trevor Smalls was able to add to the touchdown total with 48 yards rushing and two touchdowns on the ground. 

Collin Brunstein had another phenomenal game leading the team with 114 yards receiving and one receiving touchdown. Charlie Patterson made an impact defensively with nine tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss. 

The team got off to a strong start with the run game dominating the Buccaneers in the first half. The Blueboys stood ahead 35-0 heading into halftime. IC continued to keep the pressure on Beloit scoring again on a touchdown run by Smalls after a blocked punt by Lydell Ferguson Jr. put the team in great field position. 

IC controlled the tempo for the remainder of the game and was able to come away with a big win in their final game of the season.
