JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College women's tennis team was able to earn their first win of the season in their home opener defeating Webster University in a close match 5-4.
IC started off the match strong winning two of three doubles contests. The #2 doubles team of
Michelle Maag and
Hannah Lueke were able to earn a victory 8-6, and the #3 doubles team of
Shya Prescott and
Lydia Criveau were able to win 8-7 (3-0).
In singles competition, IC saw a lot of success from their newcomers. Lueke picked up a victory in #4 singles 3-6, 6-4, 10-7; Prescott dominated in #5 singles 6-3, 6-4; and Criveau won the match for the Lady Blues in the #6 singles 4-6, 6-0, 10-4.
Illinois College will host University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis on Tuesday, 9/14 at 3:00 PM.
