JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Lady Blues earned a win at home against the Principia College Panthers with a final score of 3-0. This advances the Lady Blues to 1-2 overall this season.
IC would get off to a good start striking first in the fifth minute with a goal by
Shannon Engmann. The Lady Blues would continue to flourish offensively adding another goal in the 22nd minute by
Jordan Morgan off an assist from
Haley Sommer. Illinois College extended their lead once more in the first half after
Lindsey Ruff was able to connect with
Kristin Ray to make the score 3-0 heading into halftime. This would be the final as both teams were held scoreless in the second half.
Haley Sommer led the team with four shots in the contest followed by
Shannon Engmann with two shots.
Savannah Henson led the Lady Blues defense in goal totaling nine saves in the contest.
Illinois College will travel to take on Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Saturday, 9/11 at 12:00 PM.
