MONMOUTH, Ill.- The Illinois College Lady Blues earned a victory on the road against the Monmouth College Fighting Scots Wednesday 7-2. This improves the team to 3-8 overall on the season and 2-1 in the MWC.
The Lady Blues would start the match picking up two wins in doubles competition.
Sophia Roth and
Kalisa Goertz earned a win in No. 1 doubles 8-6.
Christin Meyn and
Abby Isham would earn the win at No. 2 doubles with a final of 8-1.Â
Goertz earned a record breaking win in her No. 2 singles match with a final score of 6-2, 6-1. This moves Goertz to number one in all-time singles wins in the Illinois College record books with 34.Â
Sophia Roth would come away with an impressive win in No. 1 singles with a final of 6-4, 6-1. Other singles winners included
Maggie Dooley 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4;
Christin Meyn 6-1, 6-2 at No. 5; and
Abby Isham 7-6, 6-0 at No. 6.Â
The Lady Blues will travel to face Grinnell College on Sunday, 4/25 at 1:30 PM.Â
