IC Esports Drops Two Games In Weekend Competitions

3/8/2021 11:21:00 AM

JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Esports team took on two tough competitors this weekend. The team suffered a loss to Grand View University with a final of 2-0 and fell short in a battle against Purdue University-Northwest 2-0.

Game 1- Illinois College 0, Grand View University 2

A rematch from week one was a tall order for the Blueboys. With a support sub in the team dedicated themselves to playing strong side bot into arguably the best bot lane in the conference.

Game one IC came out swinging having an explosive early game lead trading blow up until the third drake fight where Grand View was able to crack the game open in a five for one fight.

Going into game two the team looked to make some adaptations but it was to no avail with Grand View taking the series 2-0.

Game 2- Illinois College 0, Purdue University-Northwest 2

After Saturday's loss vs Grand View, IC was hungry to not have a winless weekend picking strong lanes into their counterparts going into game one vs Purdue North West.

With the continuing trend of a strong bot side of the map the game was on a razor's edge going into drake soul fight.

Unfortunately, Purdue was able to find their opening and win a team fight netting them drake soul and barron to then ride those buffs to an eventual series win.

The Illinois College Esports team will take on Drury University in their next contest on Sunday, 3/14 at 6:30 PM.
