JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys suffered a loss at home against the Knox College Prairie Fire with a final of 2-0.
Before today's contest the Blueboys took the time to honor their seniors.
Mitchell Stonehouse,
Raul Rubalcava,
Jared Haynes, and
Spencer Bloome were all recognized for their outstanding careers with the Blueboys men's soccer program.Â
The match proved to be a very physical contest. Knox was able to strike first on a goal from a penalty kick by Alessandro Benelli in the 12th minute. The team would add another goal after a penalty in the box led to another penalty kick to take the lead over the Blueboys 2-0 heading into halftime.Â
IC would put up five shots in the second half compared to Knox College's three, but were not able to connect with the net to bring them back into the match.Â
Illinois College will wrap up their season on the road in a rematch against Knox College on Saturday, 3/27 at 2:00 PM.Â
