JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys took on Knox College in their final game of the season on Sunday. The team was able to earn the victory on senior day with a final of 80-65. Illinois College finishes the season with an overall record of 7-2.
Before the start of today's game, the team took the time to recognize their three seniors
Steven Price,
Troy Burrows, and
Deandre Enoch for all of their accomplishments.
Troy Burrows led the way for the Blueboys totaling 20 points shooting 5-7 beyond the arc.
Jake Mazrimas would also be able to produce offensively recording a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Other double figure scorers included
Jaxson Dian with 11 points and
Hunter Ottensmeier with 10 points.
The game proved to be a close contest early. A made three-point shot by Burrows would put the Blueboys up 19-18 with 10:27 left in the first half. The Blueboys would then go on a run to establish a demanding 15 point lead with the score at 42-27 heading into halftime.
Illinois College would hang on to the lead for the remainder of the contest to earn the victory. The team had a great day shooting the ball finishing with a 47.7 field goal percentage. The Blueboys were also able to out-rebound Knox 42-27.
