JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College women's soccer team celebrated their Senior Day on Sunday hosting the Cornell College Rams in a Midwest Conference matchup. The Lady Blues suffered a loss to the Rams with a final score of 0-2.
Before the match, the team took the time to honor their seniors
Kaylee Andrea,
Ashley Brokaw,
Emma Chapman, and
Savannah Henson. The athletes were greeted by their family members and recognized by their team for all of their outstanding accomplishments over the course of their career.
The game proved to be a competitive one with both teams showcasing their defensive talent. Both teams would remain scoreless after the first half. Cornell was able to come out of the second half scoring instantly on the opening kickoff to jump ahead of the Lady Blues. Cornell would add one more goal to secure the win over IC.
Haley Sommer led the team with five shots and
Savannah Henson represented the Lady Blues in goal with seven saves in the contest.
IC will look ahead to host Knox College on Tuesday, 10/26 at 7:30 PM for their Breast Cancer Awareness Game.
