Box Score 2 APPLETON, Wis. – The Illinois College women's tennis team fell by identical scores of 8-1 to St. Norbert College and Lawrence University on Saturday. With the two defeats, the Lady Blues sink to 1-4 (1-3 Midwest Conference).
Illinois College will have one last chance at a road victory on Sunday morning, facing Ripon College at 9 a.m.

Saturday began with a setback to the Green Knights in De Pere, Wis. St. Norbert jumped ahead, 3-0, after doubles with comfortable victories at Nos. 2 and 3 as well as a tight 8-7 win at No. 1 over
Sally Hixson and
Sophia Roth.
In singles, Roth and Hixson in particular put up a good battle in their matches at Nos. 1 and 2, but the lone point of the morning belonged to
Kalisa Goertz at No. 4 with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Nicole Pfotenhauer.

In the afternoon, results were similar for Illinois College. Lawrence went ahead, 3-0, after doubles. This time around it was Goertz and
Madelyn Deardorff who put up the biggest fight before falling in their match at No. 2, 8-6.
Illinois College was in four of the six singles matches, but took away only one point once again. Goertz and
Lena Reed switched places in the singles lineup and Reed was able to claw past Morgan Fisher at No. 4, 6-4, 5-7, 10-8.
